Booking terms and privacy
Who you book with
Riverbank is run by Miðás hestar ehf (kennitala 601222-0510), Þrúðvangur 5, 850 Hella, Iceland, under accommodation licence REK-2023-055052. Your host is Harpa: harpa@riverbank.is, +354 864 6817.
How booking works
You send a request for your dates from this site. Harpa checks it and replies. Payment is by card, on a secure page run by Teya, our payment provider. Your card number is entered with Teya and never reaches Riverbank.
Prices
Prices are in euros and include Icelandic VAT and the accommodation tax. A cleaning fee is added once per stay and is shown with your quote before you send the request.
Cancellation
You can cancel free of charge up to 30 days before arrival. If you cancel later than that, the booking is not refunded. To cancel, write to harpa@riverbank.is. A refund goes back to the card you paid with.
Privacy
Miðás hestar ehf is responsible for the personal information you give us. We collect your name, email address, phone number, dates, number of guests and anything you write in your request, and we use it to answer and manage your booking and to take payment. From your card we receive only its type and last four digits.
Others who handle it for us: the booking system is run by SNDR Studio on Cloudflare, and the booking form uses Cloudflare Turnstile to keep out spam. Booking emails are sent through Resend, card payments go through Teya, and our own email is with Google. The owners use an assistant in their booking system, built on Claude by Anthropic, to answer questions about bookings: it sees guest names and booking details, never phone numbers or email addresses.
Booking and payment records are kept for as long as Icelandic bookkeeping law requires, which is seven years. This site does not store your details in your browser and uses no analytics or advertising trackers.
You can ask to see, correct or delete your information, apart from what bookkeeping law requires us to keep, by writing to harpa@riverbank.is. You can also complain to Persónuvernd, the Icelandic Data Protection Authority, at personuvernd.is.
